As always, take note of the slumps below and adjust your rosters accordingly.
Dan Uggla, 2B, Atlanta Braves
Uggla’s horrific slump continued this week, as he was only able to muster up 2 hits all week. His batting average is now down to an awful .178.
Ben Zobrist, 2B/OF, Tampa Bay Rays
Zobrist is in the middle of a pretty significant slump right now as he has just 5 hits in his last 41 at bats.
Casey McGehee, 3B, Milwaukee Brewers
McGehee, who had a bit of a breakout year last season, has hit the skids as of late. He has just 4 home runs on the season and his average is now down to .251.
Adam Dunn, OF, Chicago White Sox
The big slugger’s American League struggles have continued recently, as he has just 1 homer and 5 hits over his last 37 at bats.
Jorge Posada, OF, New York Yankees
Posada has yet to follow up his lineup tirade with anything worth note. His batting average for the year sits at .169 and has just 16 RBI’s. Don’t expect Jorge to see any significant playing time in the near future.
Bronson Arroyo, SP, Cincinnati Reds
Arroyo’s lasted a combined 5 2.3 innings over his last two starts with a ridiculous 14 earned runs over that span. If Cincinnati hopes to stay competitive in the Central Division, they will need for Bronson to turn things around.
Fausto Carmona, SP, Cleveland Indians
The former Ace is now winless in his last five starts and lasted just 4 innings against the Blue Jays in his most recent outing, allowing 7 earned runs.
Mariano Rivera, RP, New York Yankees
Rivera allowed runs in 2 of his 3 appearances this week, earning a loss and a blown save. He has pitched well this season otherwise, so this may just be a small aberration.
Jaime Garcia, SP, St. Louis Cardinals
After getting off to an extremely hot start, Garcia has hit a rough patch lately. His most recent outing lasted just 3 1/3 innings as he gave up 11 runs on as many hits. He is now winless in his last 3 starts.
