According to Jon Heyman via Twitter, the Florida Marlins have hired 80-year old Jack McKeon as their interim manager to finish the 2011 season.
McKeon takes over for Edwin Rodriguez following his resignation after a poor start to the season. McKeon also becomes the second-oldest manager in MLB history, while he tries to provide a spark to ignite a struggling 32-40 Florida Marlins club. The team is expected to look for a long-term replacement immediately following the season, while Rotoworld.com suggests Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is a prime candidate.
