According to a report from ThirdAge.com, New York Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez could face a suspension for illegal gambling allegations.

Per the report, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York said, “”Major League Baseball is taking “very seriously” the allegations that Alex Rodriguez took part some illegal, underground poker games, one of which reportedly turned violent, and could face suspension if his participation in the games is confirmed.”

Though fantasy owners aren’t going to be affected by this initially, as A-Rod was already on the shelf following knee surgery on July 9th, these allegations are still very serious and could have long-term affect with A-Rod and Major League Baseball.
